From our kitchen

Home-cooked food, the way we eat it

Everything we serve is cooked fresh in our own kitchen by our family, with vegetables we grow ourselves whenever the season allows.

Mornings start with a hot breakfast and a pot of tea in the dining room, with the mountains outside the window. In the evening, come back to warming Ladakhi dishes or simple Indian home food.

Shanti Stupa

The white peace stupa on the hill above Karzu, built in 1991. Climb the steps at sunrise or sunset for a view over the whole of Leh and the Stok range.

The nine-storey royal palace of the Namgyal kings, built in the 17th century above the old town. Walk through its rooms and up to the roof for views across the valley.

Our story

Green View was founded by our loving son, Amit Silwal, who dreamed of a place where travellers to Leh would feel at home. For five years our family has welcomed guests in that spirit, greeting each one at the gate and looking after them like our own.

    “Lovely accommodation, nice view”

    Very comfortable stay, clean installations, option for room with balcony and nice views, afternoon sunlight (september), hot water, breakfast and dinner option, location about 10-15 min walk to the center. On top the owner Ashok is there personally to help out with whatever you need. You can feel it is his passion to manage the accomodation and attend his guests. Great service and value for money. Very much recommended!

    “The best of the best in Leh. Feel like home.”

    The Green View Hotel was a great choice to stay. The place is just a few minutes from the Leh market, but the neighborhood is very quiet and yet views around are just fabulous, the skyline with gompas snow clad mountains. The room and bathroom were clean and cozy. It was great to know that owners cultivate vegetables himself. We eat delicious homemade breakfasts and dinners. Absolutely amazing stay with the most beautiful family - so kind considerate and caring its almost like staying with family. While staying in Leh we've encountered an issue due to flight cancellation. And Mr Ashok did his best to help us to resolve it. We were able to store our luggage during our trip to the lake Pangong and hotel staff helped us with baggage logistic. Lot of warm words to say, I can't recommend staying here more.

    “Value for money place”

    Ashok uncle is the best host I ever met. Really helpful person. This hotel is best for any nationality. Location of hotel is great,just take left turn from Nearby HP petrol pump. Leh market is 10min/600m from the location. Food was great. Ample car parking space. My room was neat and tidy along with washroom. I stayed with my wife.

    “Amazing stay”

    I had a wonderful week-long stay at Green View Hotel in Leh, and honestly, it felt like the perfect combination of the privacy of a hotel and the warmth and care of a homestay. The location is excellent — just a 6-7 minute walk from the main market, while still being peaceful and quiet. The views of the surrounding mountains are beautiful, and it was genuinely lovely to wake up to them every morning. Since I was staying for a full week and working during the trip, stable WiFi was really important to me, and thankfully the WiFi here was good and reliable throughout my stay. The place is also very clean, hygienic, and well maintained. The food deserves a special mention — everything I had was delicious and felt fresh and homely. But what really made the stay special were the owners. Uncle and Aunty are incredibly sweet, caring, and welcoming. They genuinely make you feel looked after without ever being intrusive. If you're looking for a peaceful place in Leh that gives you the privacy of a hotel, the comfort of a home, great mountain views, good food, and genuinely kind hosts, I would definitely recommend Green View. I'd happily stay here again on my next trip to Leh.

    “Best place to stay in Leh”

    We stayed in Leh for three weeks and saw many different accommodation options in person. I can confidently say that this is the best value for money. The rooms are clean, with fresh bed linen. The location is very convenient, with Leh Central Market within walking distance. Hot water was always available. The owner, Mr. Ashok, was very helpful throughout our stay and always took our requests into consideration. I would also like to give a special mention to the delicious food and the coffee machine — both were a great bonus. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.     Questions travellers ask us

    How should I handle the altitude?

    Leh sits at about 3,500 metres. Plan to rest for your first day or two, drink plenty of water and avoid hard exercise until you feel well. If you fly in, give yourself a quiet first day before any passes.

    When are you open?

    We welcome guests from April to October, which is the main travel season in Ladakh.

    Do I need permits?

    Leh town needs no permit, but places like Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso do. Tell us your plans and we'll help you arrange them.

    Can you pick me up from the airport?

    Yes. Send us your flight details on WhatsApp and we'll arrange a pickup.

    What is your cancellation policy?

    It depends on the room and how you book. If you book with us directly, ask us on WhatsApp and we'll explain the terms for your dates. On Booking.com or Agoda, the conditions are shown with each room option.

    Can you arrange a birthday or anniversary celebration?

    Yes. We arrange small parties for birthdays and wedding anniversaries. Tell us the date and how many guests when you book.

    Can I store my luggage while I travel?

    Yes. Leave your bags with us while you go to Nubra, Pangong or Tso Moriri, and pick them up when you're back.
